Q: I registered my child for the wrong level?
A: Email daacswimlessons@gmail.com with the mishap. ALL transfers will incur a $10 transfer fee. If the class you are looking to transfer into is full, then we will be unable to complete the transfer. As stated in our pricing policy, we do not offer refunds, only credits for future use. If your child is unable to participate in the level you signed them up for and there is no room to transfer into the proper class, you will be given a credit for a future season of swim lessons.
Q: When are swim lessons offered?
A: DAAC currently offers swim lessons in the Fall, Spring, and Summer.
In the Fall and Spring we offer swim lessons on 8 consecutive Saturday mornings with the following time slots, 8:15 am, 9:00 am, 9:45 am, and 10:30 am, pending holidays weekends.
In the Summer we offer swim lessons on Monday-Thursday for two consecutive weeks with the following time slots: 8:15 am, 9:00 am, and 10:30 am, pending holidays.
Q: Are private swimming lessons offered?
A: Yes. We offer private swimming lessons during our recreational swimming times. Recreational swimming times vary by season, for a complete calendar click here.
We also offer private lessons at 11:15 directly following group-swimming lessons in the fall, spring, and summer pending availability. For information on pricing and registering for private lessons, contact Daacswimlessons@gmail.com
Q: Do I need to bring any kind of flotation device for my child?
A: No, there is no need to bring any flotation device. Any flotation device needs will be provided by DAAC.
Q: Does my child need goggles?
A: Goggles are not required, but will help with a child’s comfort.
Q: Does I need sunscreen?
A: No. Our pool is indoor, therefore no sun protection is needed.
Q: What should I bring?
A: You should bring a swimsuit for your child to swim in, a towel for after, and clothes for after (for the colder months of the year). For children with longer hair, it is much easier if it’s pulled back out of their face in whatever way is comfortable. Again, goggles are not required, but will help with a child’s comfort. All equipment and flotation devices specific to swim lessons that are needed are provided by DAAC.
Q: How do I enter the girl’s locker room?
A: To enter the girl’s locker room from the lobby, you will enter the balcony and go up the stairs and across the balcony, then down the stairs on the other side. You will exit the balcony and turn left; the girl’s locker room is the first door on the left. We have an emergency/disabled person’s entrance if needed, just ask!
Q: Where can I observe swim lessons from?
A: We have viewing area that over looks the pool. The balcony is accessible directly from the lobby. We also have seating surround most edges of the pool to observe swim lessons. Every child is different, so we encourage you to observe swim lessons in the bet way for your child, whether that is from afar in the balcony, or closer up on the benches.
Q: Why do I have to check in at the desk every lesson?
A: This helps to keep a record of attendance and serves as a reference for capacity and attendance in the future. In case of emergency, first responders will be able to have accurate information necessary.
Q: Are showers available?
A: Yes. There are showers in both the boys and girls locker rooms.
Q: How do I register online?

Q: What level is appropriate for my child?
A: We offer Parent and Child 1 & 2, Preschool 1, 2 &3, and Learn-to-Swim 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6. For detailed descriptions of each class and to find out which class is right for your child, click here. For further assistance, email Daacswimlessons@gmail.com .
Q: My child is not preschool aged, but preschool 2 or 3 sounds appropriate for them?
A: Our swim lessons program is based on comfort and ability level. We want everyone to feel comfortable in their class level. If the description available doesn’t quite seem to fit your families needs or you are confused, just email Daacswimlessons@gmail.com and we will be able to direct you towards the best option.
Q: My child is preschool aged, but can swim on their own already?
A: Our swim lessons program is based on comfort and ability level. If you are unsure if your child is ready for a more advanced class, just email us at Daacswimlessons@gmail.com and we will be able to direct you towards the best option.
Q: What if I wanted an earlier time slot but it says there are no spots available?
A: Our class limits are based on safety regulations and avoiding overcrowding. If a class if full, there are no more spots available. Unfortunately we are unable to open additional spots in order to maintain our required teacher to student ratio in order to maintain safety regulations.
Q: I am looking for a specific class but there are no spots available at any time slot?
A: Our class limits are based on safety regulations and avoiding overcrowding. If a class is full we are unable to accept any additional students into that class. When registering on Active Networks, if a class or time slot does not appear on the registration page, this means the class and time is full.
Q: How can I keep my child in the pool and keep up with their progress outside of swimming lessons?
A: DAAC offers recreational swimming to the community at varying times of the year. Children under five swim for free, student swim for $1, and adults swim for $2. To view our recreational information, click here.
Q: My child has completed all/most levels and wants to continue swimming at a higher level? Where to go?
A: DAAC has a swim team that competes in a summer and winter season for ages 5-18. For information about the swim team, visit Swimdover.org or email Daacswim@gmail.com.
